Protein Cinnamon Rolls

These Protein Cinnamon Rolls are a high-protein twist on the classic bakery favourite. Soft, sweet, and perfectly spiced, they're made with Greek yoghurt and protein powder for a lighter, healthier version that still satisfies your sweet tooth. Ideal as a post-workout snack or afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Base:

  • 1 scoop Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 150 g Self Raising Flour (all purpose flour) (sifted)
  • ½ tbsp Baking Powder
  • 110 g Fat Free Greek Yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp Sweetener
  • 20 g Butter (melted)

Filling:

  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar Sweetener
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cinnamon (or milk of your choice)
  • 1 tbsp Sugar Free Maple Syrup (melted)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a small baking tin with baking paper for easy removal.
  • Make the Dough:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sifted self-raising flour, protein powder, baking powder, and sweetener. Add the Greek yoghurt, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it out into a rectangle.
  • Make the Filling:
  • In a small bowl, mix the dark brown sugar, cinnamon, and sugar-free maple syrup until combined. Spread the mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  • Roll and Slice:
  • Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log. Slice into six equal rolls and place them on a lined baking tray.
  • Bake in the Oven:
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  • Cool & Serve:
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Recipe Notes:
Serving Size: This recipe makes 6 cinnamon rolls.
Optional glaze: Stir Greek yoghurt with a drizzle of maple syrup and spoon over warm rolls.
Storage: Store airtight for up to 2 days at room temperature or 4 days in the fridge. Gently reheat before serving.
